Ivanovic beats Azarenka in straight sets in Tokyo.

Ana produced a highly polished performance as she defeated two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

In the match between the former major champions and No. 1s, Azarenka committed seven of her nine double faults in the first set and her serve was easily read by Ivanovic.

"It was a very tough second round match. She'd had one match already, so I really tried to take my time and get into the match, working hard for each point," Ivanovic said. "It was a good quality match and I played some good tennis in the important moments - I'm just very happy to be through, because it was a tough draw."

Ana will play against Lucie Safarova, who defeated Bencic 3-6 6-4 6-2 for a spot in the Semifinals. They will play this match on friday.
