Ana has been handed an exceedingly difficult draw at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. She is seeded third and receives a first round bye, but could face two-tome Grand Slam champion and former world No.1 Victoria Azarenka in round two or Kimiko Date Krumm.
If she reaches the quarter-finals, Ana could face her French Open conqueror, Lucie Safarova, against whom she has lost her last five matches, including in the first round here five years ago.
Top seed Angelique Kerber is a potential semi-final opponent.
The seeded players in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot face until the final, are No.2 Caroline Wozniacki, No.4 Jelena Jankovic, No.5 Sara Errani and No.8 Carla Suarez-Navarro.
