Ana through to Wimbledon Last 16

Ana faced her toughest match of her Wimbledon campaign on Court 2 today and she came out with a win as she defeated No.22 seed Julia Goerges of the Germany 3-6 6-3 6-4 to advance to the fourth Round. The match took 1 hours and 55 minutes.


In first set Julia took a 5-2 lead, but Ana took the next game .but In the following game  Goerges found some conviction on her serve and held as she took the set 6-3


In the second set Ana and Julia held serve until 2-3 and Ana broke Julia's serve and and quickly held her serve to consolidate the break, then Julia held her serve and Ana served out for the second set 6-3 


In last sets Ana broke the Julia's serve at 3-2 and Ana held her serve in next game . In 5-3 Julia held her serve and in the next game Ana saves 1 break point and won the third round match 3-6 6-3 6-3 


Ana will face in next Round Victoria Azarenka , who defeated Cepelova 6-3 6-3 . She will play this match on monday

Ana speaks about her match today and her next opponent, Azarenka

"I was very pleased with my serve today," said Ana. "I was very happy with my overall performance too. I managed to execute a lot of what I had planned, and what I had worked on in practice, so that is very satisfying."


"It was a great first set - Nadia started really well, and I didn't do much wrong either," Ivanovic said. "In the second set I started serving better and putting more pressure on her with my forehand, which I think was the big difference.


 "I love clay. I grew up on it. The blue clay is a little more slippery, but it's the same for everyone, so you just have to stay focused as usual."


 "Vika has been playing extremely well lately, and it's a challenge for anyone against her," Ivanovic said. "When I saw the draw I really wanted to get to this round and challenge myself against the World No.1. I hope I can bring the same level as I did today. I'm going to compete and we'll see how it goes."

Ana beats Petrova 7-5 6-1 and advanced to the third Round of Madrid

Today on Stadium 3 Ana Ivanovic defeated Nadia Petrova in straight sets 7-5 6-1 in an 1 hour 22 minutes , striking 7 aces , 0 double faults , shile serving at 63% and converting 4 of the 6 break points oportunities thats she had


In First set Petrova broke the Ana's serves at 2-1 and then Petrova held the serve . In the following games Ana held the serve but Petrova again held the serve in the next game and leading 4-2 .When Petrova served at 4-3, though, Ana managed to regain the break, and she easily held serve in the next game to reach 5-4 . Afterwards, King and Ana each held their serves for 6-5. Ana then broke King in the twelfth game to win the set 7-5


In the second set  Ana started well by taking a 2-0 lead then Ana  held her serve to lead 3-0. Afterwards Petrova lost her serve at 4-1 and Ana served out the match at 6-1 with good play


In the next Round Ana will face the World No.1 Victoria Azarenka , who defeated Hlavackova 6-3 7-6 . Ana will play this match on thursday at a time to be not decided
