Ana takes on world No.30 Petra Cetkovska in the second round of the Qatar Total Open in Doha on Wednesday. It will be the third meeting between the pair, with the head-to-head series currently tied at 1-1.

On her way to the 2008 French Open title Ana blitzed the Czech 6-0, 6-0 in round four, recording only the second whitewash scoreline of her career.

However, it was a very different story when the two met on the lawns of the All England Club, Wimbledon last summer: Cetkovska triumphed 6-2, 7-6.

The Czech 26-year-old reached round two courtesy of a 7-6, 7-5 victory over world No.60 Petra Martic on Tuesday. Ana had the day off, having already beaten an ailing Carla Suarez Navarro on Monday.

"I'm definitely hoping to gain some revenge," said Ana. "I feel like I made a good start to the tournament on Monday, I was hitting the ball well and moving well.

"It's going to be important that I continue on this way against Cetkovska tomorrow, because she's quick and brings a lot of balls back."

The match is scheduled as the of the third of the day on Court 1 and is expected to take place sometime after 6.30pm local time (4.30pm Central European Time; 10.30am Eastern Time).

I'm soon leaving for Doha. Unfortunately the Middle East has not been a great place for me in terms of results, even though I always enjoy visiting. I'm determined to put that right this year!

Ana withdraws from Doha

0 comentarios

Ana has been forced to withdraw from next week's Qatar Ladies Open 2011 in Doha with a recurrence of the abdominal muscle injury she sustained in Australia last month.
"It's very frustrating, because I am so motivated to train and to get more matches under my belt," said Ana.
"But with this injury I am restricted, especially on the serve, so I just have to rest and then kind of restart my season. I'm sorry to be missing Doha but I'm sure I will be back there in the future."
