I'm finally enjoying some sun. When playing tennis in hot weather, ice towels around your neck, during the changeover, are very helpful. But I'm curious to know any other tips you have for staying cool while playing sports in the summer?

Ana on her Facebook : "Always feels good to be back at Wimbledon. Thankfully the weather has improved and there's even been some sunshine. Still, I'm sure there will be some rain delays so it's a good job I have some interesting books to read in the locker room. What are you guys reading at the moment?"

Thanks for all your messages of kindness and support. I'm recovering well from my injury. I can still practise but I haven't been able to play points lately, because that requires explosive movement. That should change in the next 2-3 days, so I should be okay for Wimby.

Taking part in a UNICEF event in Belgrade this afternoon made me even more excited about the Olympics. We talked a little bit about how in sport we can see some characteristics that can help us in our everyday lives, such as commitment, teamwork and leadership.

What a beautiful place to hold the Rome draw, at the Spanish Steps. And what a tough draw! But I remember having a very tough draw here two years ago and I reached the semis, so hopefully I can do at least as well this year.

Ana on FB " Frustrating loss tonight. I definitely had my chances, especially in the first set when I was leading. Unfortunately I allowed myself to get a bit down when I made mistakes at 4-1, and that cost me. But no time to dwell on it: I'll fly to Rome tomorrow!"

Ana pointed to the first set turnaround as a gamechanger in the match. "I had so many opportunities but I lost that game and then got down on myself," Ivanovic commented. "It was frustrating, because I just let it slip. I would feel a little bit better if at least she had earned it, but I kind of let it slip with a few unforced errors. I think that's where the match probably turned around." 


 But there is still a bright side for Ivanovic. "For a lot of European players this is the nicest time of the year, because we play in such lovely cities," she said. "It doesn't get better than Madrid, Rome, Paris and London. It's an amazing time and brings the best out of me. I also really enjoy playing on clay. So I'm excited for the next few weeks and I really feel like I played great matches here.


 "I want to take a lot of positive things from this and try to build from today and just try to get my act together for the even bigger ones."

Ana on Facebook : "I practised on the blue clay for the first time today. It's not bad. I was less concerned about the colour and more concerned about the bounce and the overall consistency of the surface: it's quite heavy clay (there's a lot of it) and very different from Stuttgart. It's more like the conditions in Moscow two weeks ago".

I'm really curious to see what the blue clay in Madrid is like to play on. I know they've been planning it for years and in the past one of the tournament organizers would actually travel with a piece of the clay in his bag, to show players! I'll let you know my opinion of it later this week.

It's amazing to think that in just over three months I will have competed in another two Grand Slams, the Fed Cup semis and the Olympics. I'm determined to do really well in all these events, and that's a big motivation in my training at the moment.

Ana is ready for clay

I'm back on the clay courts and it kind of feels like home. I'm lucky that I enjoy playing on all surfaces, but I've had my best success on clay and I can't wait for the European clay court season to begin!

I feel like I've kind of picked up where I left off in Indian Wells and that's very encouraging. Venus tonight will be a tough challenge. I played a night match here once before, I think, but this is going to be a different experience and a lot of fun.

Ana has recovered from the injury

I've recovered well from last week's injury and have been practising for the last few days. I play my first match here in Miami tomorrow!

So far, so good here in the desert! I won my match against Larsson and had a great time at the player party on Thursday night. I went there with my good friend Sorana and also caught up with Nole and some other players.

It feels good to be back in Indian Wells. It's such a beautiful place - I'm a little bit jealous of the people who live here! It often brings the best out of me on the court, and I'm hoping for another strong performance this year.

It's funny to think I've been on three continents already this year - none of them Europe - and it's not even March! It's kind of a strange lifestyle that we lead as tennis players and I do miss home. But the next stop is Indian Wells, one of my favourite places to visit. If you ever get the chance to come to this tournament I really recommend it

Very busy day here in Dubai. I am proud to become a Global Brand Ambassador for Dubai Duty Free, the owners of the tournament here, and I took part in a press conference to announce that. I practised in the morning, and in the afternoon I did an autograph session. Looking forward to my match tomorrow.

I'm soon leaving for Doha. Unfortunately the Middle East has not been a great place for me in terms of results, even though I always enjoy visiting. I'm determined to put that right this year!

Mixed feelings about today. I didn't play well until it was too late. But all credit to Petra, she's obviously a great player and she will take some stopping. It wasn't a bad tournament for me overall. I feel like I took another step forward. Thanks for all your kind messages of support during my time in Australia.
