Ivanovic starts 2015 campaign with a win.

Ana Ivanovic is through to the quarters of the Brisbane International after a 6-4 6-1 win over Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia. Ana won the match in 1 hour and 23 minutes for her first win of 2015.

The second seed Serb struggled with her ball toss all evening, causing a number of nervous moments in a tight first set.

 But she managed to secure the crucial first set break despite Gajdosova impressing throughout to settle the nerves and and set up the match.

 The second set was far more one sided, with Ivanovic finding some rhythm on her serve and recording two early breaks to all-but seal the match 6-4, 6-1.

Ivanovic will now face Estonian Kaia Kanepi in the quarter-finals after she knocked out American Madison Brengle earlier in the day 6-3, 7-6 (6/3). They will play this match tomorrow on Pat Rafter Arena 4th match Not before: 7:00 pm local time.
