Ana lost Brisbane final.

Despite a marvellous performance, Ana just fell short of capturing the Brisbane International title as she lost 6(4)-7, 6-3, 6-3 to world No.2 Maria Sharapova. After two hours and 38 minutes of top-quality tennis, the Russian eventually clinched a match that could have gone either way until the very end.

Ana will now head to Melbourne for the Australian Open, which begins a week on Monday. She will be seeded fifth for the year’s first Grand Slam tournament.
